Lore & Background

Forged in the armories of the Sigmarite priesthood, the flail is a weapon of grim symbolism as much as brute force. Its chain represents the unbreakable bonds of faith, while the spiked head embodies the wrath of the god-king Sigmar against the corrupt and the mutant. Witch Hunters favor it for its ability to shatter the shields of Chaos cultists and pierce the thick armor of Chaos Warriors, delivering righteous judgment with every swing.

In Their Own Story

The rain fell in sheets on the streets of Ubersreik, washing blood into the gutters. Saltzpyre swung his flail in a wide arc, the spiked head whistling through the air before it connected with a Stormvermin's shield. The impact cracked the wood and sent the ratman stumbling. 'Faith is my shield,' he growled, 'but this is my hammer.' He pulled back and brought the flail down in a crushing overhead blow, the spikes punching through the foe's helm with a sickening crunch.

Reader's Guide

The Flail is a versatile weapon for Saltzpyre, particularly effective against armored elites and shielded enemies. Its light attacks are sweeping and good for clearing hordes, but its true strength lies in charged attacks, which ignore shields and deal high stagger and armor damage. Use charged overheads to stun-lock Chaos Warriors or break through Stormvermin patrols. Pair it with a ranged option like the Crossbow for sniping specials. It shines in co-op when you need to control the front line, allowing teammates to focus on DPS. The Flail's slow swing speed means you must time attacks carefully to avoid being interrupted. It drops from Emperor's Vaults and commendation chests, with a flavor text that reads: 'The chain binds the faithful; the head breaks the unfaithful.'
